Shillong Smart City Recruitment 2025 – Vacancy Details

Post 1: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

• No. of Posts: 1
• Educational Qualification:
  • B.E./B.Tech or Master’s in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer, CEH, or COBIT are mandatory.
• Experience Required:
  • 10–15 years of experience in IT Security.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior cybersecurity leadership role.
  • Experience in Smart Cities, urban digital infrastructure, public sector IT, or large-scale critical infrastructure security projects is preferred.
• Role Purpose:
  • The CISO will be responsible for establishing a robust cybersecurity framework to safeguard ICCC, IoT, cloud, smart mobility, Wi-Fi, surveillance systems, and data applications under Smart Cities Mission and Digital India.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategy, SOPs, and policies as per CERT-In, NCIIPC, MeitY guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, VAPT, and ensure compliance with IT Act 2000, DPDP Act 2023, and state digital security norms.
  • Establish a Security Operations Centre (SOC) and lead incident response.
  • Secure cloud, SCADA, surveillance, and IoT networks with IAM, encryption, IDPS, and DLP measures.
  • Build capacity through cyber hygiene workshops, awareness campaigns, and vendor SLA audits.

Post 2: Business Intelligence Analyst

• No. of Posts: 1
• Educational Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Certification in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Data Analytics will be an added advantage.
• Experience Required:
  • 3–8 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or urban data management.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in Smart City or e-Governance projects.
• Role Purpose:
  • Responsible for managing and analyzing data from urban systems integrated with ICCC to enable data-driven decision making and improved citizen service delivery.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, clean, and process data from smart city platforms.
  • Develop BI dashboards (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Perform statistical and predictive analysis for urban management.
  • Support real-time alerts, maintain data governance, and prepare reports for stakeholders.

Post 3: Smart Element Support Technician

• No. of Posts: 1
• Educational Qualification:
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • Certifications in IoT, Smart City Systems, or Networking (e.g., CCNA) preferred.
• Experience Required:
  • 2–6 years of hands-on experience in smart infrastructure, IoT device maintenance, or electronics troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience in Smart City or urban automation projects desirable.
• Role Purpose:
  • Field-level operation and maintenance of smart devices and IoT systems ensuring uptime, connectivity, and real-time data transmission to ICCC.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot smart elements like poles, sensors, CCTV, smart lights, and meters.
  • Ensure uninterrupted connectivity via Wi-Fi, RF, LoRa, or 4G.
  • Conduct firmware upgrades, verify data transmission, and maintain logs.
  • Respond promptly to ICCC alerts and assist in diagnostics with software/network teams.
