Meghalaya State Scholarship 2025–26: The Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (DHTE), Meghalaya, invites Fresh and Renewal applications from eligible students who are permanent residents of Meghalaya for various State Scholarship Schemes for the academic year 2025–26. Students pursuing higher studies from Class XI to Post-Graduation can now apply online through the official Meghalaya e-District Portal.
Students who failed in the previous academic year, as well as those who are not eligible for the Post Matric Scholarship due to their parents’ annual income exceeding ₹2.50 lakh, are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

1. Free Studentship Scholarship (ST/SC)
- For Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) students pursuing Class XI to Post-Graduation.
- Eligibility:
- Students who failed in the previous year.
- Students not eligible for Post Matric Scholarship due to parental income exceeding ₹2.50 lakh per annum.

2. Book Grant Scholarship (ST Students)
- For Scheduled Tribe students pursuing higher studies from Class XI to Post-Graduation (excluding Vocational, Engineering, Medical & Paramedical courses).
- Eligibility: Must have secured 60% marks or above in the previous examination.

3. Merit Scholarship (Tribal & General Students)
- For Tribal and General students of Meghalaya who have secured very high marks in Class X, XII (MBOSE, CBSE, AIICSE) and Degree Examination 2024.
- Selection: Based on merit performance; limited number of scholarships.

4. Post Graduate Research Scholarship (M.Phil/Ph.D)
- For SC/ST and General students of Meghalaya who are pursuing M.Phil or Ph.D research courses at universities or Research Institutions.
- Eligibility: Must have secured 50% marks and above at the Master’s Degree level.

Meghalaya State Scholarship 2025–26 | Important Instructions for Applicants
- Students must provide a functional and valid email address, as all notifications and correspondence will be sent via email.
- Download and register on the Sandes App from Google Play Store. The mobile number used for registration should also be entered in the online application form to receive notifications.
- Carefully check all online application details for errors before submitting the form.
- Ensure that all documents are uploaded correctly in the designated fields.
- Once the Final Submit button is clicked, the Directorate will not be responsible for any errors made by the applicant.
- Students are solely responsible for all information provided in the application. Any false information will lead to immediate cancellation of the application.
- Make sure all details in the form are accurate and that scanned copies of documents are clearly visible. Any discrepancies will result in cancellation.
- Submit the complete online application with all enclosures within the stipulated deadline.
- No hard copies of the application are required.
