Meghalaya Education Recruitment 2025: Educational Qualification
For Lecturer in Electrical Engineering (Shillong Polytechnic)
- Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. in relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent.
For Assistant Professor (Civil & Electrical Engineering)
- Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in the relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
Candidates must possess the required qualification as on the last date of application submission (27 November 2025).
Meghalaya Education Recruitment 2025: Age Limit and Relaxation (as on 01.10.2025)
- Maximum Age: 32 years
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates
- No upper age limit for candidates already serving in Meghalaya Government service (if they entered within the prescribed age limit).
The date of birth accepted by MERB will be that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate.

Meghalaya Education Recruitment 2025: Selection Process – How Candidates Will Be Chosen
- The Meghalaya Education Recruitment Board (MERB) will conduct the selection through one or both of the following methods:
- Written Examination (MCQ Format) followed by a Personal Interview, OR Shortlisting of Candidates based on MERB norms followed by Personal Interview.
- It shall be at the discretion of the Meghalaya Education Recruitment Board (MERB) to cancel any of the processes mentioned above if it is found that illegal or unfair means have been adopted during the conduct of the recruitment process.
- Only candidates producing all required original documents – such as educational, birth, and caste/community certificates – will be eligible for the Personal Interview.
