The Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) has announced an official notification inviting applications for its Apprenticeship Training Program 2025. This program aims to provide hands-on training and field exposure to young engineers aspiring to contribute to infrastructure development across Meghalaya.

MBDA Apprenticeship Training Program 2025 – Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess any of the following:

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institute.
  • M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering (preferred).

MBDA Apprenticeship Training Program 2025 – Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 45 years
    (Candidates must be residents of Meghalaya.)

MBDA Apprenticeship Training Program 2025 – Essential Skills & Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and preparation of structural/site drawings.
  • Ability to prepare estimates, BoQ, and cost analysis for civil works.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, supervision, and methods of field activities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to work across various districts and blocks in the Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo regions, including travel to remote project areas.

MBDA Apprenticeship Training Program 2025 – Selection Process

The selection process will be based on a Written Examination only comprising:

  • General Knowledge
  • Aptitude & Reasoning
  • Psychometric Test
  • Subject Matter (Civil Engineering)

No interview will be conducted.

MBDA Apprenticeship Training Program 2025 – Training & Work Responsibilities

Selected Apprentices will:

  • Execute and monitor field-level civil works under MBDA projects.
  • Verify work quality and ensure adherence to approved specifications.
  • Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and assist in project documentation.
  • Support data collection, community mobilization, and training activities.
  • Ensure safety protocols and environmental safeguards are followed.

Preference will be given to candidates from Meghalaya, particularly those well-acquainted with the local geography, culture, and field conditions.

Deliverables

  • Preparation of monthly progress and technical supervision reports.
  • Verification and certification of completed works.
  • Maintenance of updated project monitoring data (both physical and financial).
  • Preparation of quality assurance documentation for all assigned works.
  • Providing inputs for project evaluation and audit processes.

Workstation and Travel

  • Personnel will be stationed at their assigned locations (SPMU or CMU).
  • Field travel will be required for site inspections, monitoring, and supervision based on project needs.
  • Travel allowances (TA/DA) will be provided as per MBDA norms.

Coordination and Support

All deployed personnel shall work in close coordination with:

  • Project Implementation Units (PIUs) under MBMA/MBDA.
  • Implementing Consultants engaged under the MegARISE project.
  • Local communities and village-level institutions to ensure participatory and effective project implementation.
