NEIGRIHMS Shillong Recruitment 2025: The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong invites applications for a Walk-in Interview for recruitment of contractual staff under the ICMR-funded Extramural Research Project titled “Centre for Advanced Research on Addictive Behaviors (CAR-AB)”.
The project focuses on delivering evidence-based interventions targeting excessive and problematic use of technology such as smartphones, gaming, social media, gambling, and screen time – along with associated stress, depression, anxiety, and addiction.

NEIGRIHMS Shillong Recruitment 2025 – Vacancy Details
Post 1: Project Research Scientist – 1 (Non-Medical)
- No. of Posts: 02 (Two)
- Salary: ₹56,000/- per month + HRA as admissible
- Age Limit: 18 – 35 Years (Age relaxation as per rules)
Qualification (As per ICMR guidelines)
Essential:
- First Class Postgraduate Degree (including integrated PG degree) in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or Sociology, OR
- Second Class Postgraduate Degree (including integrated PG degree) with Ph.D. in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or Sociology.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in research related to mental health and addictive disorders.
- Proficiency in computer-based data processing and statistical analysis software.
Post 2: Project Technical Support – III
- No. of Posts: 02 (Two)
- Salary: ₹Rs. 28,000/- p.m. plus HRA, as admissible
- Age Limit: 18 – 35 Years (Age relaxation as per rules)
Qualification (As per ICMR guidelines)
Essential:
- Graduate Degree in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or Sociology with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in research related to mental health and addictive disorders.
- Proficiency in computer-based data processing and statistical analysis software.
NEIGRIHMS Shillong Recruitment 2025 – General Terms & Conditions
- The posts are purely temporary and contractual, initially for 3 months, extendable based on performance.
- The project duration is 5 years, subject to ethics approval.
- Candidates must bring Standard application form, CV, relevant and original documents, and one passport-size photograph.
- Knowledge of Khasi language is mandatory as the project area includes Shillong and nearby regions.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Educational qualifications must be from recognized institutions.
- Candidates will be selected based on written test/interview or both.
- The Recruitment Committee’s decision will be final in all matters.
- The posts do not guarantee regular appointment at NEIGRIHMS.
- Candidates must join within 7 days of result declaration.
